Basil Grow Cup

A great way to cultivate a learning experience in a fun way is to start your own home herb or plant garden with Grow Cups, like the OMG Garden Center grow cups we now have at the nursery.

A grow cup is used to grow a single herd or plant in an easy, controlled environment with little maintenance throughout the entire process.

We are starting our own Basil Grow Cup and will be updating this blog with progress reports and pictures each week. So come by OMG Garden Center Nursery today to pick one up and follow along with us at home.

Our first step is to unwrap the compressed soil wafer and place it in the bottom of the grow cup.

Next, place the grow cup on the saucer (lid)

Slowly add water allowing the soil wafer to expand. Use a pen or pencil to break up and stir the wafer - soil should expand to fill most of the grow cup.

Now add the seeds to the grow cup. Keep the soil moist but not saturated. Seeds should sprout within one to two weeks.
