The tropical Dipladenia vine (Mandevilla spp.), more commonly referred to in recent years as mandevilla, enhances landscapes with its vibrant, trumpet-shaped blooms and verdant foliage.
Depending upon the specific variety, these climbers grow to mature heights of 5 to 20 feet and produce red, pink or white flowers. Hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9b through 11, Dipladenia grow best in full to partial shade and fast-draining, fertile soils.
